As a proofreader and copy editor, Nick Jones spends a lot of time working with words; however, all work and no wordplay would make Nick a dull boy, so to redress the balance, Nick likes to write jokes in his spare time.
His first joke book, Gagged and Bound – A Book of Puns, One-liners and Dad Jokes, was written during the summer of 2014 and was published by Full Media Ltd to much critical acclaim. It gained positive reviews from sites such as The Bookbag and Reader’s Favorite, and went on to become a best-seller under Puns and Wordplay on Amazon UK.
Gagged and Bound 2 was released less than a year later and received a similarly positive response, and in 2017 Nick returned with the third instalment (you’ll never guess what it was called). Described by one reviewer as a ‘master gagsmith’, Nick’s joke style is pun-based and has been compared to Gary Delaney, Tim Vine and Milton Jones.
In December 2017, Nick returned with something totally different: a children’s picture book about a little girl who loses her shadow. Illustrated by Nick’s friend, the super-talented Si Clark, Sarah’s Shadow is proving very popular with kids and parents alike.
Originally from Bristol, UK, Nick now lives in Congleton, UK, with his wife, two kids, two rabbits and three cats.
