Marion Adams
Marion Adams wrote her first poem (about a mouse) when she was eight and her first book (about the adventures of a dog who runs away from a mean master) when she was ten. The poem was published in a local magazine, but the book manuscript (handwritten on scrap paper held together with a clothes peg), stayed in the drawer.
She’s been writing ever since, for love and for a living – everything from adverts and articles to magazine stories and play scripts. She’s also won several national poetry prizes. Alongside her writing career, she has worked in primary schools supporting literacy, where she had the opportunity to run a club encouraging children to experiment with creative writing.
Marion is now a full-time editor and proofreader, a job she loves as it means she gets to work with other writers as well as being paid to read every day. Go to Sleep! is Marion’s first picture book, and she’s really pleased to be an author with Full Media Ltd. She’s sure that children will love Tansy and hopes they’ll think of that little sheep when they’ve forgotten how to go to sleep.
